In this new setup, each trainer has a single Pokémon, and you will have to form a team of three trainers along with their Pokémon to compete in the league. And since it’s more about the trainers, you will get to play with the famous Pokémon trainers including rock, Misty, Cynthia, Flannery, Thorton, and Korrina. Even the popular trainers from Red and Blue, Sun and Moon make an appearance.

The combat takes place in a real-time environment, where your team faces another team of three controlled by a computer opponent. Trainers can also use abilities that buff or heal their Pokémon while in action. Moreover, players can also combine or sync the attacks with other team members to inflict more damage. We haven’t seen any sign of an online mode where you could compete against friends but it’s too early to establish anything.

To sum it all up, from what we have seen in the trailers, Pokémon Masters looks quite promising and has the potential to be a summer hit. Pokémon Masters is free-to-start, meaning a part will be free but will allow in-app purchases.
