Facebook Gets WhatsApp like Unsend Feature

You can now unsend/delete your messages on Facebook, it’s Official. After almost a year and months of testing, Facebook has started rolling out the unsend feature. Just like WhatsApp, the unsend feature of Facebook allows you to delete the messages that you send mistakenly. With this new Facebook unsend feature, you can delete the sent message for everyone or just yourself. The feature is similar to WhatsApp where if you delete the message, it is replaced with a note indicating that you have deleted the message. The time window is 10-minutes, which means that you will have to delete the message within 10-minutes of it being sent.

It was back in 2018 when we witnessed Facebook unsend feature being used when Mark Zuckerberg was caught doing it. When asked, Facebook took the stance that the messages simply expired over time. However, soon users demanded that the feature should be rolled out to them as well. In response to the popular demand, Facebook announced that it will create the unsend feature for all its users. Now after months of testing, the Facebook unsend feature is finally rolling out to the Android as well as iOS users.

Facebook took nearly nine months to roll out the Facebook unsend feature to its users despite that Mark Zuckerberg was using it back in April 2018. The surface of unsend feature also hints the truthness in the recently released reports that indicate Facebook is planning to merge Instagram and WhatsApp with Facebook Messenger. While we may have to wait for a few more months for that to happen, you can use the unsend feature on your Facebook Messengers.
