Legends of Runeterra for PC, Windows and Mac OS X

Set in the world of League of Legends, you can now download Legends of Runeterra for PC or Laptop and explore Runeterra on the big screens.

One of the three upcoming games announced by Riot Games is Legends of Runeterra. Riot Games is well known for its popular League of Legends game, which basically gave the studio reputation. Legends of Runeterra is a competitive card game that takes place in the League of Legends universe, something LOL fans can look forward to. This isn’t the first time a game is getting a card spinoff. Previously, we have seen successes of Hearthstone and Artifact, both of which were spinoffs of World of Warcraft and Dota 2 respectively.

As for the Legends of Runeterra, there is no word on the release though you can pre-register yourselves via Google Play. And while you are waiting for the release, you can learn to download Legends of Runeterra for PC and Laptop. Unlike Riot’s flagship, League of Legends Wild Rift, there isn’t any PC version of Legends of Runeterra. Therefore, in order to experience the card model, you will have to install the Android version of the Legends of Runeterra. And since the OSes differ, you will have to set up an Android Emulator, first.

An Emulator basically allows you to run the Android version of Legends of Runeterra on Windows running PC/Laptop and OS X powered Macbook. You can follow the instructions provided at the end to avoid getting stuck during the installation. An Overview of Legends of Runeterra

The whole idea behind Legends of Runeterra is to bring something new to the table. Talking about the game, a designer revealed that they have learned a lot from what the other card games have done in the past and will try to make Legends of Runeterra as exciting as possible. If we look at the details, Legends of Runeterra is set in the League of Legends universe and focuses Runeterra, a place where the lore unfolds. This means some of the iconic locations such as Noxus, Freljord, Zaun, Piltover, Ionia, and the Shadow Isles will be featured.

Similarly, you will have the legendary characters from these places as well as the new ones. In terms of gameplay, you may find Legends of Runeterra similar to Blizzard’s Hearthstone or Valve’s Artifact. However, that doesn’t imply Riot plans to replicate the said games. Instead, the studio as mentioned earlier wants to bring something new and will definitely give the other hits competition.

The biggest difference between the said games and Legends of Runeterra is the approach to the combat. For instance, Legends of Runeterra in each round allows the player to take on the role of either attacker or defender. Each time a player makes an action, the other player is given a chance to respond. On the contrary, Hearthstone players go unopposed in doing whatever that can during their turn.

There will be points, which the players can accumulate and use to unlock more cards. To sum it all up, Legends of Runeterra with all its mechanics and new approach looks promising.
